About Me

Renee (they/them) is a creative-minded UX Designer and Engineer. After years of working in Office Management and Administration, Renee came to the realization that they weren't invested in the work they were doing, and became very determined to transition into a career in tech. They greatly enjoy breaking down complex ideas into clear visuals and clear code, especially high concept visuals designed to inspire.

In 2021, Renee was accepted to and successfully completed Per Scholas' 4-month long, intensive Software Engineering bootcamp. While in the program Renee designed, developed, and deployed 5 projects, 3 full stack applications, and 2 REST APIs. Due to their hard work, when they graduated they were named the Class Speaker of their bootcamp cohort.

In 2022, Renee was also accepted to the UX Design track of the We Build Black Fast Track Program. The program provides education, resume assistance, and internships to Black women and in their case a nonbinary afab individual. Additionally, they pair these trainees with highly skilled and experienced mentors who help with turning "techies-in-training to employed junior technologists". As a result of being in this program, Renee has worked with their mentor to complete 3 case studies.

They are a passionate and accomplished tech professional with multiple years of experience, dedicated to driving organizational transformation and efficiency through innovative technical solutions. They excel in crafting exceptional web applications and possess extensive experience in customer-centric engineering, API integration, and SaaS management, enriched by IT experience at BetterCloud. Proficient in JavaScript, Typescript, React, Node.js, Express.js, Figma, HTML, CSS/SASS, and SQL, they specialize in creating seamless user experiences. Their expertise extends to layout design, system debugging, and modern browser technologies. Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams and conducting rigorous code reviews, they bring enriched knowledge to contribute to your company culture with a positive outlook.

Renee holds a Bachelors Degree and is a born and raised Brooklynite. When they are not at a keyboard or in front of a computer screen, they are unplugged and present. They are with their friends/family exploring, having fun, observing art, creating art, writing, filming, playing music, hiking, walking on the boardwalk, or simply eating good food at home in their pjs. Whatever it is, they do their best to live in the moment and experience the full breadth of human existence.
